I am the Weimaraner Club of America (WCA) Liaison to the
Weimaraner Klub e.V. of
Germany.
September 4th-7th, 1997 recognized a land mark in
Weimaraner breed history.
Centenary celebrations and breed related events hosted by the Weimaraner
Klub e.V. were conducted in and around the classical city of Weimar.
As one of the organizers of the international gathering, I thought it appropriate to capture the historic events during the 4-day jubilee. Requests were made to International Weimaraner Club Delegates to send their comments and photos to my colleague, Brigitta Guggolz, and myself for the purpose of creating a Weimaraner Memory Yearbook. The contributions to our efforts were overwhelming!!
I wish to extend heartfelt thanks to all those who helped to make the Yearbook a reality.
I
have been compiling the memory book with graphic
designer, Cassandra Sappington from Great Falls, Montana, for nearly four
years. The layout is fashioned in a
"Yearbook" style to utilize as many photos and graphic images as
possible. Since the book honors the Weimaraner Klub e.V., the text will appear
in English and German.
Description:
Each book features a film laminated, case bound cover
measuring 9" x 12",
smyth sewn text, individually shrink-wrapped, and a page count of approximately
255. (Presently, we are at 258
pages)
A
quantity of 1500 to 2000 books will be published with a
special limited time sales price of approximately $40.00 per book
(price subject to change). Shipping and handling will be extra. (Please
note: I am searching for the best price on a "short print run"
to equal 500 or 750 books for the 1st printing. This would assure complete
sales/ recouping some of my expenses. The 2nd printing would most likely
be a larger volume. Price is still subject to change-
(S/H extra).
7-Divisions:
Division One comprises historical aspects of the
Weimaraner Klub e.V., as it pays
tribute to significant breed contributors of the past and present and denotes
early art subjects relating to Weimaraner beginnings.
Divisions
Two through Six cover the various centenary events held in and around
Weimar, September 4th - 7th, 1997. Weimar's Lord Mayor Dr. Volkhardt Germer and
Honorary President of the Weimaraner Klub e.V., Dr. Werner Petri, have
contributed supporting statements to the Preface.
Division Seven covers our WCA Delegation's visit to Holland for the Dutch Weimaraner Club Championship Breed Show and Retrieving Ratings Test, September 13th and 14th, 1997. The events were scheduled the weekend following the centenary celebrations in Weimar, Germany.
Many photographs, lithographs, paintings, graphics, hunting postcards and
silhouettes will be utilized in the layout design. I have chosen from the
traditional hunting colors (gray/brown/green) to highlight the seven division
lead-in pages. The end sheets
(inside front cover (IFC)/ first page and inside back cover (IBC)/ last page)
are Grafika Stock Paper in Scottish Green Mist.
Old hunting postcard scenes and silhouettes overlay the green mist stock
background.
The Weimaraner
Erinnerungsbuch will be a vital contribution to the Weimaraner Klub e.V.
Archives located in
Weimar-Schndorf,
Germany.
