Weimaraner Association of Canada 2006 National Specialty

Dear Weim lovers ,
This year’s National Specialty was hosted by the Barrie
Kennel & Obedience Club, on a very hot, sunny Sunday August
6th 2006.
The specialty began with a very competitive sweepstake with
4 dogs & 6 bitches entered.
The breeder/judge, Mrs Pip Simmons from New Zealand, awarded
Best in Sweeps to junior Dog, Davora Bremar Mark of Ashlaren bred
& owned by Debbie Lynch, David Kuehl, Al & Pam Patunoff.
The Best Opposite in sweeps went to open bitch WeatherRun
Batten DWN TH Hatch, bred by Thomas W Lyon, and owned by Stephane
Brochu, Nathalie Grimard & Sylvie Lafrance.
The Best Veteran, was Can / Am Ch Instar’s Venture Capital
bred & owned by Leanne Mitchell & Judith Goldman, and the
opposite , Ch Greysilk’n Style at Winoka, bred by Lynda D Graef
& Owned by Laura & Danny Ritchie.
Following the sweeps the National Specialty got under way
with breeder/judge Keith Simmons of New Zealand in command of the
ring. Mr Simmons judged 8 regular class dogs, 15 regular class
bitches, 1 veteran dog, 2 veteran bitches, 6 special dogs and 10
special bitches. 8 dogs & bitches were entered in 6
non-regular classes
Best in Specialty was awarded to Can / Am Ch Bowbent
Carousel Hidden Gem, bred by Ross & Angela McClure, owned by ,
R & A McClure & B & P Van Camp.
Best of Opposite in specialty was veteran, Can / Am Ch
Instar’s Venture Capital bred & owned by Leanne Mitchell
& Judith Goldman.
Winners Dog was awarded to the winner of the Open Dog class,
Open dog, Am Ch Graytsky’s Smokin’ In Havana, bred by A &
M Anderson & D Massey, owned by A. Anderson & S.T.
Quigley.
Reserve WD was the Jr puppy Davora Bremar Mark Of Ashlaren.
Winners Bitch was the open bitch Gramayre WinWeim Nani Just
Me, bred by S. Shorrock, D Massey, C Grisell, owned by S.
Shorrock & D Massey.
Reserve WB was 12-18 bitch WeatherRun Batten DWN TH Hatch.
Mr Simmons chose his Winners Dog as Best of Winner and Award
of Merit.
Following the specialty, all enjoyed a veritable feast of a
lunch and social time with friends. A huge thanks to all who
supported the wonderful raffle through donations and purchase of
tickets
