Woofstock is North America’s largest outdoor festival for dogs and the people who live with them. Quirky and fun, Woofstock offers festive entertainment and consumer shows, all of which take place in an exciting, large location in the historic St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood District of Toronto. |

The festival runs over two days and is open from 10am to 6pm, but if you want to arrive earlier or leave later, the area has lots of interesting shops, restaurants, city sights (the St Lawrence Market, the CN Tower, the Rogers Centre (formerly Skydome, home of the Toronto Blue Jays), the Toronto Islands, the Air Canada Centre, the Historic Distillery District, Canada’s Hockey Hall of Fame, to name but a few) are all within a few minutes walk of the festival. If you want to make a weekend of it there is a large choice of brand name hotels to choose from in the area. The closest is the Novotel Toronto Centre which is just a two minute walk away. For more information take a tour around the website at www.woofstock.ca
This year WAC Rescue has taken a booth at Woofstock as part of the K9 Rescue Me Walk-A-Thon event. We hope to raise both awareness of and funds for WAC Rescue at the festival. The K9 Rescue Me Walk-A-Thon supports canine rescue across Ontario. It is the main fund raising event for K9 Rescue Groups, supporting the financial needs for the care of pets in the programs. K9 Rescue is a non profit organization. The 2009 goal for Woofstock is to raise $150,000 for dogs in need. The WAC booth will be manned by volunteers who will be available to answer questions and hand out information about the breed, the WAC and WAC Rescue. There will be a raffle with great prizes and all the money raised by the raffle will go to Weim Rescue only For information about the Walk-A-Thon and to sign up or download pledge forms, please go to K9 Rescue Me’s website at www.k9rescueme.com and follow the links for the Walk-A-Thon.
